Who ever thought mythology was boring? All the smiting and whatnot.
And there are all kinds of cool word root histories. English is Germanic but with Romance/Latin influence, so “boy” and “man” come from the German side, but we still use the Latin “puer” (puerile) and “vir” (virile, virility).
The cool part? Vs made W sounds, and the ‘i’ is short, so “vir” was pronounced like “we’re”. As in were-wolf (man-wolf).

Etymology is very fascinating to me.
Since I know a few romance languages, it’s easier to understand words I may hear the first time, but it’s harder to discern whether a word has greek or latin origins (I also know a lot of Greek prefixes and suffixes)
